Tensae Church (which meets in suburban Chicagoland) and Tensae II Church (which meets in Chicago) will be hosting a conference from Friday through Sunday. Conferences are special times devoted to prayer, worship, and studying the Bible; they are similar to tent revivals (if you are familiar with those). Friday night’s prayer meeting will be held in Chicago, all of Saturday will be spent in Glen Ellyn, and Sunday’s activities will follow the typical worship schedule of a morning service in Glen Ellyn and a late afternoon one in Chicago. There are 10-15,000 Ethiopians living in Chicagoland; most of them do not know Jesus personally.
Please pray that many Amharic speakers throughout Chicagoland would be able to attend at least part of the conference and draw closer to the Lord. Pray for those who do not follow Jesus to encounter Him in life-changing ways. Pray that followers of Jesus will be filled with the Spirit to proclaim the good news and to demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control to the people around them. Pray that Tensae and Tensae II would be sensitive to God’s leading and, by His grace, carry out God’s vision for His people.
